Bunco is fun, easy to learn, and high energy!   We get together the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 6 pm — we eat, drink, & socialize; game begins promptly at 6:30 pm.  We play 4 games; taking a dessert break after the second game.

There are 12 players with a substitute list (sub-list).  If you are interested in joining, your name will be added to the sub-list.  We welcome all who are interested to contact us for more information.

HOW WE play:

We all chose a month to host (November/December each member picks a month to host for the following year).  At the end of the night the host will pass the bunco bag to next month’s host.  Each host is responsible for having all necessary supplies at the ready.

If you’re the host, here’s What You’ll Need:

  • 12 chairs (or places to sit)
  • 3 tables (split a big dining table or use coffee tables—anything works)
  • Snacks, drinks, (disposable) cups, napkins & plates for 12

The Social Club provides:

  • 9 dice
  • 3 Table Numbers
  • 12 scorecards
  • 12 pens/pencils
  • 1 bell

With your group of 12 set, you are ready to play.  At the beginning of the evening, everyone puts $5 in a basket, and when the games end, cash prizes are awarded for Most Buncos, Most Baby Buncos, Most Wins, and Most Losses.

Table #1 starts and ends the round with the sound of the bell.  Three dice and 4 pencils are placed at each table and everyone gets a scorecard.  Once you get to your table, the person sitting across from you is your partner for that round. Determine who at the table will be scorekeeper before the bell rings.  The goal of the game is that you and your partner get the most rolls of the number of the current round.  For example: the first round is 1’s so everyone tries to roll 1’s; the 2nd round is 2’s so everyone tries to roll 2’s etc … until you finish with 6’s. If you get three of the number that you are playing for you get a BUNCO; game continues until Table #1 rings the bell.

PLAY: Table 1 starts the first round by ringing the bell.  The person at every table who keeps score starts by rolling the dice.

SCORING: Every time you roll that round’s number, you get a point.  A BABY BUNCO or a BUNCO gets your team more points.  The scorekeeper adds the scores at the end of the round to determine which team wins the round.  If you roll a Bunco or Baby Bunco, remember to mark your scorecard. Only mark those which you rolled, not the ones your partner rolled.

BUNCO (21 points)
3 of the same number rolled matches round number
example: three 2’s during 2nd round = BUNCO!

Baby Bunco (5 points)
3 of same number rolled does not match round number
example: three 2’s during the 4th round = Baby Bunco!

Rolling that round’s number (1 point)
example:  two 1’s during round 1 = 2 points

ENDING THE ROUND:  Table 1 ends the round. Once a team at Table 1 has hit 21 points they ring the bell and the round has ended. Scorekeeper at every table adds up the points and the pair with the highest score are the winners.  After every round mark your score card with either a “W” for a win or “L” for a loss.

SWITCHING SEATS AFTER EACH ROUND:  If you are a winner at table 2 or 3, you and your partner move (2 goes to 3, 3 goes to 1) making sure you don’t partner up with the same person for the next round.  If you are a winner at table 1, you and your partner stay at table 1 making sure one of you switches a seat so you don’t partner up for the next round.

ENDING THE GAME: Once 6 rounds have been completed (1’s, 2’s, 3’s, 4’s, 5’s and 6’s) the first game is complete. We play 4 games, breaking after the 2nd one for dessert & refreshments.

AT THE END OF THE NIGHT:  It’s important to mark your score card with your Wins, Losses, Buncos, & baby bunco’s.  If you forget, you may not win any prizes!  The host will announce the winners.  If there is a tie for one of the categories, winners have a choice between a roll off or splitting the prize money.
